Leadership Development for Teens
Our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program offers teens ages 14-18 a meaningful leadership opportunity in a Montessori-inspired, nature-based learning environment. This program allows young people to earn service hours, build confidence, and develop new skills while supporting summer camps, half-day camps, and outdoor learning programs at Wild Roots.
About Wild Roots
Wild Roots is where Montessori philosophy meets outdoor exploration and community transformation.
We pair liberatory education with nature-based learning to create spaces where every child — especially those often underserved or misunderstood — can flourish.
Our programs intentionally serve neurodivergent, Black and Brown, and LGBTQIA+ children and families.
Who is the CIT program for?
This program is ideal for teens who are enthusiastic, responsible, and passionate about supporting a mission-driven organization that centers neurodivergent children, Black and Brown children, LGBTQIA+ families, and others who have been underserved in traditional educational spaces.
What are the benefits of this program for teens?
Teens who participate in our CIT program will:
- Build confidence and leadership experience
