Wild Roots Montessori Nature-Based Microschool Withdrawal Policy
At Wild Roots, we understand that family needs and circumstances can change. While we hope each child will thrive with us throughout the year, we recognize that transitions may be necessary. The following policy outlines our expectations and procedures for student withdrawal:
Notice of Withdrawal:
Families must provide written notice of withdrawal at least 30 days in advance of the student’s final day. This notice should be submitted via email to the Executive Director and should include:
-
The student’s name
-
Intended final date of attendance
-
Reason for withdrawal (optional, but appreciated for feedback and program growth)
Tuition Responsibility:
-
If 30 days' notice is given: Tuition is required only through the student’s final month of attendance.
-
If less than 30 days' notice is given: Families are responsible for one full month of tuition following the withdrawal notice, regardless of the student’s final attendance date.
Program Commitment:
Wild Roots operates on an annual commitment model to ensure program stability for students and educators. While we do not require full-year prepayment, we plan staffing and resources based on enrollment and ask families to thoughtfully consider their commitment when registering.
Early Withdrawal Due to Family or Student Needs:
We strive to work collaboratively with families to support student transitions when needed. If a withdrawal is recommended by Wild Roots due to developmental readiness, behavioral needs, or a mismatch in learning environment, we will provide as much notice as possible and offer support during the transition.
School-Initiated Withdrawal:
Wild Roots reserves the right to withdraw a student from the program if:
-
Tuition payments are consistently late or unpaid
-
A family is not upholding community agreements or policies
-
A student’s needs cannot be safely or appropriately met within our program structure
In such cases, families will be notified in writing and provided a timeline for withdrawal. Whenever possible, we will work with families to find alternative solutions or resources.
Final Records:
Any requested documentation or records such as a learning summary or attendance report will be shared within two weeks of the final day of attendance.
