At Wild Roots Nature Based Learning, we believe children thrive when they are deeply seen, supported, and empowered to grow in connection with themselves, their community, and the natural world. Rooted in Montessori principles and grounded in equity, we provide inclusive, anti-bias, neurodivergent-affirming education that nurtures curiosity, confidence, and environmental stewardship.

Our Programs

Wild Roots serves as a model for reimagining education as liberatory, child-centered, and joyful. Our work is expressed through three interconnected branches.

Together, these branches reflect our vision: a world where every child—regardless of race, neurotype, income, or family structure—can thrive, trust themselves, take pride in their culture, and feel a lasting connection to the land.

Wild Roots Montessori School -- Coming Fall 2026!

Opening August 2026, our nature-based Montessori school for ages 3–13 blends Montessori methods with immersive outdoor learning. We honor the brilliance of every child and cultivate independence, critical thinking, and self-trust within a vibrant, inclusive community.

Summer Camps & Seasonal Half-Day Camps

From nature-inspired art and outdoor theater to hands-on science and environmental explorations, our half-day and weeklong camps invite children to discover, create, and play in biodiverse outdoor spaces. Wild Roots Programs are designed to spark joy, build confidence, and foster friendships while deepening respect for the Earth.

Field Trips for Fort Wayne Learners

We partner with public, private, and non-traditional learning environments to provide experiential, hands-on programs that bring science, social studies, and environmental education to life. Our field trips connect students directly to local ecosystems while encouraging critical inquiry and stewardship, while also allowing time for free exploration in the outdoors.
