Wild Roots Winter Homeschool Session is 10 weeks long. This session runs from December 5, 2025 - February 20, 2026

Details:

• Start Date: Friday, December 5, 2025
• End Date: Friday, February 20, 2026
• Friday from 9am - 2pm
• 10 Weeks of Science/Nature Based Class for ages 3-13

Winter Science/Nature Based Class Educational Plan:

Focus: Adaptation, energy conservation, and the unseen systems of nature

Life Science:

• Investigate how animals and plants adapt to winter - hibernation, migration, dormancy
• Study evergreen vs. deciduous trees
• Explore food scarcity and energy use in cold seasons

Earth & Space Science:

• Study states of matter through snow/ice/water experiments
• Observe moon phases and constellations in winter skies

Physical Science:

• Explore insulation and heat transfer using natural materials
• Investigate friction and motion on ice or snowy surfaces
• Experiment with sound - how it travels differently in snow, quiet forests

Engineering, Technology, and Applications of Science:

• Build mini greenhouses or insulating shelters
• Design a winter bird feeder or animal tracking tool
• Test materials for warmth - natural vs. synthetic insulation experiments
