Wild Roots Fall Homeschool Session is 12 weeks long. This session runs from August 22 - November 14, 2025.

Details:

• Start Date: Friday, August 22, 2025
• End Date: Friday, November 14, 2025
• Fridays from 9am - 2pm
• 12 Weeks of Science/Nature Based Class for ages 3-13

Fall Science/Nature Based Class Educational Plan:

Focus: Observation, transformation, and preparation in nature

Life Science:

• Study plant and animal life cycles - leaves, fungi, insects, squirrels, birds, etc.
• Explore seed dispersal (wind, animals, gravity) and germination
• Identify local flora and fauna and their seasonal behaviors

Earth & Space Science:

• Observe seasonal patterns and daylight changes - track the sun, journal shadows, etc.
• Begin nature phenology journaling (tracking environmental change over time)
• Study decomposition: leaf litter, compost, fungi roles in ecosystems

Physical Science:

• Investigate changes in matter - solid/liquid, temperature effects on leaves/water, etc.
• Explore forces and motion in nature - wind on leaves, rolling acorns, gravity, etc.

Engineering, Technology, and Applications of Science:

• Design and build seed-dispersal models based on real plant strategies
• Build animal shelters using natural/recycled materials
• Create tools to measure and observe weather changes
